Cookies for Ied Al Fitr in Indonesia/Kue Lebaran

Special cookies for Ied Al Fitr in Indonesia.

Nastar Cookies (Indonesian pineapple tarts), Cat’s Tongue (Lidah Kucing), Kastengels or kue keju is Dutch-Indonesian cheese cookie made with a special Dutch cheese calls edam,  Putri salju (cookies topped with powdered sugar covered like snow) etc.

These Lebaran cookies remind me a lot of my childhood memories about how I spent hours helping my Mom baking cookies a week before Ied.

As the youngest in the family, my job was the easiest one, either spreading butter or eating the cookies fresh from the oven 😀 lol.

Simple human experiences that make life so vivid and beautiful.
